Honoring Exceptional Scholars: 10th Multidisciplinary Research Festival at Bestlink College of the Philippines

The 10th SIMP–AAIRI–BCP Multidisciplinary Research Festival celebrates outstanding research contributions at the Bestlink College of the Philippines, anchored on the theme “Research for Resilience, Innovation, and Sustainability.” The event was organized in collaboration with the Ascendens Asia International Research Institute and the Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions.

The festival featured more than 1,700 research abstracts presented across multiple parallel sessions. From this extensive pool, approximately 60 high-quality studies were shortlisted for the competitive category, representing diverse academic fields, including:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Business and Education Industry
  • Engineering, Information and Communication Technology
  • Natural Science, Mathematics, Curriculum, and Instruction

Ultimately, 22 research teams advanced to the championship stage—12 from the college level and 10 from the senior high school level. These finalists demonstrated rigorous scholarly inquiry, analytical depth, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to their respective disciplines. Their participation highlights the festival’s role as a platform for intellectual exchange, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The 10MRF at BCP reinforces a strong culture of research, where research is not only an academic requirement but also a meaningful platform through which students’ work can create real impact. Among the many exceptional studies presented, two research teams emerged as Champions (Best Research Paper Presenters) in their respective categories.

Exemplary Young Innovators

Enhancing SHS Learning Through AI-Driven Gamification

In the Senior High School category, the Champion for Best Research Paper Presenter was awarded to the team in the field of Engineering and Information and Communication Technology, comprising researchers Mark Joseph P. Cabodbod, Kerf Steven R. Apawan, David T. Esteban, Jhon Paul E. Flores, and Ivy May M. Estabillo. Their study, titled “Effectiveness of an AI-Driven Gaming Education Platform Towards the Academic Performance of SHS Students,” explores the potential of an AI-driven, gamified learning platform as an effective study tool for Senior High School students.

The research focuses on how integrating game-based elements into a spaced repetition system can improve student engagement, motivation, and knowledge retention. Additionally, the study evaluates the platform’s real-world impact on students’ academic performance, emphasizing its capacity to foster active, self-directed learning compared with traditional study methods. This work highlights the innovative application of technology in education and exemplifies rigorous scholarly inquiry among young researchers.
