The 8th SIMP–AAIRI–UCC Joint Multidisciplinary Research Conference Plus (8JMRCP), held on November 29, 2025, at Union Christian College, served as a dynamic platform for scholarly exchange with the theme “Global Synergy in Research and Innovation: Advancing Knowledge, Leadership, and Sustainable Development.”
Bringing together researchers from diverse disciplines, the conference featured 24 research abstracts that demonstrated how multidisciplinary inquiry can address contemporary challenges, preserve cultural heritage, and enhance institutional and community development. Among these presentations, selected researchers were recognized as Best Research Presenters for their exceptional academic rigor, outstanding scholarship, innovation, and significant impact.
In the Spotlight: Researchers who Made an Impact
The recognition of these outstanding presenters highlighted the conference’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Their studies stood out not only for methodological soundness but also for meaningful contributions to culture, education, healthcare, and public service.
Preserving Ilocano Culture through Creative Dance

Researchers Marc Yvan Pacis Martinez and Ivan Nikolai Unciano Belen presented “Panaguyod: Basis for an Ilocano Creative Dance,” documenting the Guyod-Guyod tradition of Barangay Alangan, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. Their study transformed this indigenous practice into a creative dance framework that celebrates Ilocano cultural identity while integrating insights from both local elders and youth. The team developed original dance movements, music, and literature rooted in community narratives and proposed establishing the Guyod-Guyod Dance Festival as an annual cultural event. This work represents a significant contribution to cultural preservation, heritage promotion, and creative education.
Undergraduate Researchers Showcase Innovation in Nursing and Public Health

In the healthcare field, Armand Ray M. Castromayor explored the clinical experiences of BSN students in “Journey of the Sailor’s Heart: Clinical Area Experiences of BSN Students.” Using a Husserlian phenomenological approach, the study revealed how student nurses navigate stressors and challenges in patient care, highlighting emotional resilience, professional growth, and adaptive strategies. The findings underscore the importance of institutional support in developing competent and emotionally resilient future healthcare professionals, making this research highly relevant to nursing education and student welfare.

In business and technology, Gabrielle Anne E. Peralta, Christian Dave F. Garcia, and Julian Lawrence R. Luzon presented the research study “Smart Healthcare Management System for Enhancing Public Health Service.” Built as a web-based platform using Django and Python, the system streamlines operations at the City Health Office of San Fernando, La Union, from patient registration to consultations, vital sign monitoring, and report generation. Evaluation results highlighted its high functionality, usability, and reliability, demonstrating its potential to improve service delivery, reduce manual workloads, and maintain accurate health records. This research offers a scalable model for replication across local government health units nationwide.
Advancing Research, Leadership, and Sustainability
The recognition of these outstanding presenters reflects the 8JMRCP’s role as more than a research showcase—it is a dynamic forum for interdisciplinary dialogue, innovation, and leadership development. Through culturally grounded studies, human-centered educational research, and technology-driven solutions, the conference reaffirmed the power of research in shaping sustainable and inclusive futures.
The achievements of the best presenters stand as a testament to the growing research culture fostered by Union Christian College and its partner institutions, inspiring future scholars to pursue impactful, globally relevant research.
