Philippine Christian University Hosts 25th SIMP-AAIRI Joint Multidisciplinary Research Conference

The 25th SIMP-AAIRI Joint Multidisciplinary Research Conference (25JMRC), themed “Global Multidisciplinary Research and Educational Innovation: Transforming Societies toward Sustainable Development,” successfully convened at Dhurakji Pundit University. The event was jointly organized by the Philippine Christian University (PCU), Ascendens Asia International Research Institute (AAIRI), and the Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions (SIMP), highlighting the convergence of diverse fields to address pressing societal challenges.

A total of 96 research presenters participated in the conference, comprising 61 Filipinos and 35 Chinese researchers, all of whom contributed cutting-edge research spanning conceptual, empirical, innovative, and action-based studies.

Plenary Sessions and Keynote Addresses

FDr. Dr. Glenn S. Cabacang, President of Ascendens Asia International Research Institute and Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Research, officially opened the conference with a warm welcome address. He was followed by an inspirational talk from Dr. Junifen F. Gauuan, President of Philippine Christian University, who emphasized the transformative potential of research to shape policies, uplift communities, and foster international collaboration.

Keynote speakers from the Philippines and Thailand highlighted the importance of collaboration, ethical practices, sustainable funding, and responsible use of technology in advancing impactful research.

  • Dr. Margie DG. Dela Cruz (Vice President for Academic and Globalization, Philippine Christian University). Underscored the importance of community-driven efforts, noting that meaningful change is achieved when collective talent and vision converge.
  • Dr. Mariju Galicha (Site Coordinator/Adjunct Faculty, Philippine Christian University)
    Dr. Galicha reminded researchers that ethics and intellectual property principles guide fair, honest, and respectful research practices.
  • Dr. Minthiva Pitchayaauckarakhun (Rajabhat Mahasarakham University, Thailand)
    Dr. Pitchayaauckarakhun discussed the role of effective financial management and resource allocation in ensuring sustainable funding for research and other educational initiatives.
  • Dr. Woradech Rukkaphan (CEO, VBeyond Development Co. Ltd)
    Dr. Rukkaphan shared how simple acts of kindness and professional experiences in the financial sector can inspire research. He emphasized that technologies such as AI and Cryptocurrency should serve as tools to enhance societal contributions rather than replace human effort.
