Spotlight on Outstanding Research

Reviving Campus Journalism Digitally
In the Education discipline, the study “A Feasibility Study on Revitalizing the School Newspaper, Ignacian Marian Imprint, Through Digital Platforms,” authored by Sophia Mikaela G. Jimenez, Aneia Margarithe O. Cosico, Jacob Alessandro D. Chan, Travis Ely James L. Gonzales, Samuel V. Coronel, and Marc Nathan P. Roque, explores the revival of the Ignacian Marian Imprint as a digital school publication. Addressing financial constraints and declining student participation, the research employed a mixed-methods approach to assess student interest, institutional readiness, and faculty support.

The study highlights how digital platforms can serve as a cost-efficient, accessible, and sustainable solution for campus journalism. It embodies resilience by overcoming previous limitations, innovation through the integration of digital media, and sustainability by providing a model for long-term publication management. Beyond technical feasibility, the research underscores the role of student publications in enhancing communication skills, fostering engagement, and promoting an inclusive academic environment. It offers a forward-looking framework for schools aiming to modernize and sustain student-led initiatives.
Beyond the competition, the festival featured parallel research sessions in which students and faculty presented studies grounded in practical and socially relevant inquiries. Each project reflected the spirit of resilience, innovation, and sustainability, offering solutions that contribute to stronger, adaptive, and future-ready communities.
Championing Resilience, Innovation, and Sustainability

The recognition of outstanding researchers at the 8th SMCIQC Research Festival underscores the event’s role as more than a presentation of academic work—it is a dynamic platform for fostering resilience, driving innovation, and promoting sustainable solutions. Through studies that address real-world challenges with creativity, cultural insight, and technological integration, the festival showcased how research can strengthen communities, empower learners, and shape adaptive, future-ready societies.
The achievements of the best presenters exemplify the spirit of resilience, innovation, and sustainability, reflecting the commitment of St. Mary’s College, Inc., Quezon City, and its partner institutions to nurture impactful, socially relevant, and globally meaningful research.
AAIRI continues to encourage scholars, educators, and institutions to participate in future initiatives, fostering collaboration and advancing research that addresses the evolving challenges of today’s world.
